The South-South Regional Sensitization workshop held in Orchid Hotel, Asaba was organized by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning as part of the ongoing Awareness/sensitization of critical stakeholders and the public on the validated Nigeria Bio-Economy Framework and the Implementation of the Cassava Bioethanol Pilot Project aimed at driving more inclusive partnership among the critical stakeholders and for the seamless implementation of the Nigeria Bio-Economy Programme. The South-South regional Workshop was the last of the Regional Sensitization Workshop organized as a follow up to the previous ones organized in Enugu for South-east, Kefi, Nasarawa State for North Central States, Kano, Kano State for North-west, Ibadan for South-West Region, Yola, Adamawa State for North-East Region, and Asaba for the South-South Region. The Nigeria Bio-Economy Program is designed to leverage Bio-resources including cassava to produce Bioethanol and other cassava derivatives including Industrial Starch, Pharmaceutical, Starch, High Quality Cassava Flour HQCF Chips, sorbitol, Animal feeds and Ethanol. The sensitization workshop drawn participants from the Six South-South states Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, and Rivers States with players from top Government Functionaries, the Agribusiness sector, Academia, Government at all levels including representatives of Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and Cassava Farmers all the six states were in attendance.

The North Central Regional Sensitization workshop was organized to bring together critical agribusiness stakeholders especially those in the cassava and Bio-fuel crops across the North central States of Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Plateau Nasarawa State and the Federal capital Territory (FCT)
and indeed the stakeholders from the 6 States and the FCT converged in the Nasarawa State University to discuss the implementation modalities of the Cassava Bio[1]Ethanol Project Pilot and the validation and implementation of the Nigeria Bio-Economy Framework. The North Central Regional Stakeholders Sensitization Project was a follow up to the Southeast Regional Workshop earlier organized by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning as part of awareness creation aimed at driving more inclusive partnership among the identified critical stakeholders for the implementation of the Nigeria Bio-Economy Programme. The sensitization workshop draws Agribusiness stakeholders, captains of Industries, top Government functionaries, the Legislators, Academia, and the Farmers from the North Central States and FCT.
